Registration is now taking place for the 2011-2012 season of the Cynthia Merrill Social Dance Cotillion. In order to reserve an invitation, please return the registration form and fee. Early registration is necessary if you want to avoid the waiting list. See registration form below for tuition fees and for registering. Must print off form and mail in the form with tuition.

The Cotillion is a special once-a-month party in social/partner dancing, etiquette and fun for students ages 10 to 18 offered October through February. In addition to these scheduled parties, a special two-hour Junior Ball is held in December 2011 at the Radisson Hotel downtown at 2233 Ventura St., across the street from the Convention Center.

We offer two Cotillions: one group for 5th -6th grades and one group for 7th-12th grades. The location is: Ballroom Live Dance Studio at First and Bullard. The Cotillion parties include manners, 45 minutes of dance instruction in all forms of social dance: Swing, Fox Trot, Waltz, Cha Cha, Tango, Salsa, Chicken Dance, Bunny Hop, Electric Slide, Macarena and Free and Slow Dancing and 45 minutes of practice with different partners, mixer games, and refreshments. Early registration is recommended to avoid the waiting list. Only an equal number of boys and girls is accepted into the Cotillion, so everyone has a partner.

Separate Etiquette Workshops are offered in Formal Dining Skills, Daily Table Manners, Introductions & Greetings, Telephone Manners, Cell Phone Manners, Texting & E-Mail Etiquette, Host and Hostess Manners, Guest Etiquette, Dress for Success, Job and College Interviews, Resumes & Cover Letters.
