Dear Parents of Returning and New Students,
I enjoy every minute of teaching your children in the Cotillion and Etiquette Workshop Program. The children accomplish so much in their dancing and manners. The junior/senior high school classes are important for the children of this generation. What a pleasure it is to see them dancing with confidence, showing respect to one another while having so much fun.
It is now time to
register for Cotillion and Etiquette Workshops for 2008-2009. Parents
who register their children this spring will pay last year’s rate of
$195.00. Starting on June 1 the rate will be $225.00 for the full
season plus the Junior Ball. You may print off a registration forms from my web page www.cynthiamerrill.com or you can e-mail me at cynthia.merrill@sbcglobal.net and I can send the registration form as an attachment or mail it to you.
I will continue to communicate with you through your e-mail
in 2008-2009. Please be sure to have my name and the word Cotillion in
your list of acceptable e-mails, so my e-mails will not sent to
trash. If you did not get my e-mails this past year, please let
me know .Many times it is difficult to read your writing and e-mail
addresses are entered incorrectly.
Cotillion does continue for the 7th through 12th grade students. The older children’s Cotillion will now start at 8:00 to 9:30 PM with the 5/6 grade students starting at 6:00PM.
The older students in high school are encouraged to attend the Regency
Palace location. Children who are graduating from 6th and 8th grade
need your special encouragement in continuing the program. This is the
age when they really need the teachings of the program. School dances
do not take the place of Cotillion.
As a final thought, any suggestions from parents or students
on how to make the Cotillion experience an even better program please
e-mail or write me a letter. I am always available to listen and will
continue to develop a better program with your suggestions.
In closing, I wish to thank all my parents
who assisted me by inviting new members to join Cotillion. This enabled
me to make our boy and girl counts even. Thank you for bringing cookies
to our parties and for hosting/assisting at both the Junior Ball and
Cotillion parties. Please sign up again. This is a good way to see the
Cotillion in action.
Any new parents who would like to help during next year’s Cotillion classes, please mark this on the Cotillion registration form I especially need a liaison parent from every school
to help inform other parents(and their children) about the Cotillion
lessons. Many children miss the learning because their parents do not
know about the program. This is definitely a word of mouth program and
I am grateful to you for your kind words and your help in enrolling
students. I am looking forward to the 2008-2009 seasons and my continued work with your children.
